Fun Memory Game

This looks fun.

1. Add a comment on my blog, leave one memory that we had together, It doens't matter if you know me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

(Now I expect all three members of my reading audience to play-heheh-just kidding-only if you want to.)

Communication

When Allori was little we taught her to sign before she could talk and it was wonderful to be able to communicate with her before she could speak. It was truly amazing! Josiah has been with us 2 weeks and we have been using some signs with him and in the last 2 days he has signed "more," "eat" and "thank you." I love it! I am very proud of him! Now he can tell us more than mama and no (those are the two things he can verbalize.) :) Fabulous! Isn't it amazing, how the brain can learn? He actually said "thank you" as he signed it! So cool!

MOM!

Pointing appropriately and speaking randomly and LOUDLY, Allori says, "MOM! Those boobs are only for babies!" Eyebrows raise just slightly, I nod slightly and decide the best response would be to agree. "Yes, Allori, that is right." Where the devil did that come from?!?!?! I am truly grateful we were alone and at home. Thank you, thank you and thank you!

Rear View Mirror

This morning Wayne and I left the house at the same time and I was bit late. As I was exceeding the speed limit some and zig zagging just a bit I noticed Wayne in my rear view mirror. He did not appear to be speeding nor was he zig zagging. I was still nervous that I was late to drop 2 of the kids off at the sitter then get the other two to therapy. I hate being late. For several miles Wayne trailed me at his steady pace while I eagerly tried to get an edge. As I exited the freeway, he waved to us as he passed. LOL. It occurred to me that that was a mirror of our personalities as well. I am always trying to get things done faster and easier...and Wayne plugs along at a steady pace. His stress level is generally lower than mine. :)

Treacherous Fence

A few minutes ago my dogs alerted me that there was a visitor on the street. They wanted to play with him. They had a bit of a miscommunication, the dogs and the the meter reader guy, he thought they wanted to eat him. In order to avoid that, he climbed the 8 foot cement wall that lines the south side of my back yard and scaled the yard that way, all the while reading all accessible meters.

Well, I am sure just for my enjoyment, he is coming back down the street, other side this time and I see him through my front door, hike one leg up to go over the fence across the street. My first thought is-huh, I guess they don't really have trespassing rules for the meter guys, huh? Weird. l think then that there should be better technology for this meter reading...then I realize there is a problem-the first leg made it over the waist high fence but he seems to be snagged, leg two is a no go. His hand is trying find and undue the snag...it must be a tricky snag, right there on the top of the fence there on his shorts cause 10 seconds pass, then 20 and finally about 45 and when he finally frees his shorts, he opts to try a different fence. At least he learns quickly.

Blessings...

Recently I was having a rough day and as I was soaking in my morning bath I was consciously trying to count my blessings and feeling glum enough to have a hard time finding any...usually I can go on and on...

Thent he thought came perfect and clear into my mind, then me heart and then my eyes teared with the realization that Wayne is my very best friend and that whatever is happening, so long as it is happening to him and I together, my world was ok. Quite ok.

(I think this picture is funny. It is not recent I promise to get some recent ones on here soon, but I can think of some humorous captions for it!)

Happy Birthday, birthday boy...

Josiah joined our family a few days ago. Maybe a week. Today he is a year old! He is a doll! He came with a stroller that he is used to being in. I think he spent most of his first year in that stroller. When he cries he goes to his stroller rather than looking for a person. I put the stroller away. Already he is starting to take a few steps on his own, and looks for me when he needs comfort. We are going to celebrate his birthday over the weekend when Wayne is home. We had some cupcakes today but will do presents and cake and everything later. :)

La Entraga

...it means to give back or to return (As best as I can tell.) I had a meeting today called "La Entraga." It means that my girls will return to their dad in a couple of weeks. I have such mixed feelings. I know it's time. I know it's right. I know it's sad. I know it's confusing. I know I love them. I know they are a part of my family. I know this year changed my life, and their's too. I know all of that, and maybe a few more things and at the same time it feels empty and lonely. Maybe I don't know anything.

Nickles

Juliana just came in and was very excited to show me her nickel. You know, the little brown spots sometimes caused by the sun. (hehehe) She doesn't always get the words right, but she makes us laugh. Considering she could speak only about 20 words at 3 1/2 years old (11 months ago) she is doing fabulously well now. Her nickel is very cute by the way.

Um...your name again please...?

Today I got this email in my inbox:

Hi Trisha
Sorry this took so long to get to you. I would like it if you could feed my cats sat 7/5 and sun 7/6.

Lori has her brother staying @ her place this weekend. So he will take care of her cats. My cats don't know him so the would be freaked out if he did it.

I will leave directions on the counter

thanks again

Seems Kosher right? Yes, all except I only know one Catherine whom I would refer to as Cat and we do not live in the same state. I eamiled back something to this effect:

Cat-

I am happy to help you with your cats but perhaps we should start with introductions, you see I do not know who you are. Without that prior knowledge the message comes across as rather cryptic. Please advise.

Trisha

One time I received a series of messages (email) from an unknown that thought I was joking when I emailed her back to tell her that Iw ould not be bringing oranges to the soccer game and I was certain she had the wrong person. It happened to fall on the first of April and I guess she thought I was playing a joke. I wasn't. It took several messages and finally some blatant ignoring of her emails. I think she finally removed me from her address book. Odd. (The incident, not the removal of my address from her book.)
